Fall mantle with gourds and raffia

Mantles and shelves are the perfect spots to add a bit of seasonal color and texture. The look can be put together in just a few minutes and you can add and subtract other seasonal items used as accompanying decorations as fall progresses.

In this easy project, a rustic shelf peeks out from the edge of some natural raffia that is topped with miniature pumpkins and gourds.

The look brings the warmth of fall colors indoors and will transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving table in minutes

It’s Thanksgiving day and the guests are arriving soon, but you don’t have any decorations for your Thanksgiving table. Don’t panic! This easy table decoration can be put together in just minutes.

Rustic butcher paper rolled out along the table center makes a great back drop for fall leaves and berries. A small candle in a glass jar and the words “give thanks” written with a sharpie reminds us of the reason for the celebration.

Pumpkin table decoration

This simple table decoration would last from early Fall through Thanksgiving.

The rustic finish of this old table is the perfect backdrop for a long twisted autumn-toned scarf, some mini pumpkins of various sizes and a few sprigs of wheat. The look is simple and so farmhouse inspired.

Go for texture in fall home decor

Pumpkins are everywhere in the fall, and for good reason. They’re one of the six main symbols of Thanksgiving, and jack o lanterns are a symbol of Halloween.

Even though pumpkins are everywhere, that does not mean we need to have an orange jack o lantern in every window and on every table.

Go for some texture by grouping different types, sizes and colors of pumpkins together. The brightly polished wooden table under this grouping of pumpkins reflects many colors and textures.

Even the warts on one pumpkin and the length of the stems adds to the look of the finished grouping.
