Learning about the month of March

The name of the month comes from Mars, the Roman god of war. Martius was also the first month of the earliest Roman Calendar.

In the USA, March is National Nutrition Month, Music in our Schools Month and National Celery Month, among others.

Birthstones for March are aquamarine and bloodstone. The flower for the month of March is the daffodil.
