National Christmas Lights Day – Celebrate with a Free Printable

Now that December is here, it’s time for National Christmas Lights Day, which falls annually on December 1st. This day is dedicated to the beautiful twinkling lights we see all December long!

Many homes use Christmas lights to decorate their trees, homes, and yards. Before the invention of electric Christmas lights, people used to decorate their homes and Christmas trees with lit candles!

Thankfully, electric Christmas string lights were invented in the 1880s. This invention gave people a safer, less flammable, way to show their Christmas spirit.

National Christmas Lights Day is dedicated to these lights, and the joy they bring during the holiday season. Keep reading for ways to celebrate this December 1 national day, including decorating tips and also a free Christmas lights coloring page for the kids!
