Appreciate a Dragon Day is a national day that falls annually on January 16th. It’s a perfect opportunity to celebrate these magical creatures.
While dragons are found in many modern books and movies, they are actually ancient creatures. Dragons have been a featured in mythology and folklore from all over the world, for thousands of years.
They are one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. It is believed that anyone born in the Year of the Dragon exhibits the same qualities as those associated with dragons in the Chinese zodiac.
While there are many national days dedicated to folklore and imaginary creatures, Appreciate a Dragon Day is the first one in the calendar year. Some other days that celebrate mythology are National Unicorn Day, National Leprechaun Day, and National Goddess of Fertility Day.
National days of the year are a fun way to celebrate foods, animals and items that you come into contact with. Be sure to check out this national days guide for more information about the history of national days and why we celebrate them.
